Curtis L. Tomasevicz is a Performance Research Analyst in the Nebraska Athletic Performance Laboratory. Tomasevicz earned a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering in 2017. He played football for the Cornhuskers from 2000 to 2003 as a running back and linebacker while earning his Bachelor's degree (2003) and Master's degree (2006) in Electrical Engineering. During his years as a Husker, he earned Academic All-Conference honors (2003) and received the Frank Solich post-Graduate Scholarship in 2004 and 2005.
Tomasevicz then went on to compete for the U.S. National Bobsled Team from 2004 to 2014, qualifying for three Olympics (2006, 2010, 2014). On the 4-man team, he earned two Olympic medals (gold in 2010 and silver in 2014) and 9 World Championship medals. He served as the U.S. Olympic bobsled team captain in 2010 and 2014.
Full-time, Tomasevicz is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the department of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and mentors undergraduate students in the NAPL through the Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience (UCARE) program. His current area of study includes measuring power output of resisted jumping and other various movements. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
