Brandon Auton joined the Nebraska Athletic Medicine staff as a graduate assistant trainer in 2009. He spent the 2009-10 season working with the Husker baseball team.
Auton graduated from Western Carolina University in May of 2009 with his bachelor's degree in athletic training. During his undergraduate career, he served as a student athletic trainer for the WCU football and softball teams as well as two high schools and a general medical rotation. He also served in internships at Vanderbilt University, the Pittsburgh Pirates spring training facility and for the Hickory Crawdads (single-A affiliate of the Pirates) Minor League baseball team.
Auton is a certified EMT-Basic and earned several professional awards while at WCU.
