Amanda Monterastelli begins her first year as an assistant athletic trainer and her third year with the Nebraska Athletic Medicine staff. In her position, she will primarily work with the women?s soccer and swimming and diving programs. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Prior to joining the training staff full-time, Monterastelli was a graduate assistant trainer with the NU women?s volleyball team from 2000 to 2002, while earning her master?s degree in health education. She also worked in Los Alamos, N.M., as a high school athletic trainer and teacher and worked with the Region IV Olympic Development program from 1997 to 2000.
A native of Buffalo, Wyo., Monterastelli graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1998 with a K-12 Physical Education Teaching Degree and an athletic training emphasis. As a student, she primarily worked with women?s basketball and soccer. She was married to Greer Monterastelli in June of 2002.
