2007-08: Senior Season

Kim Chrostowski (pronounced Croe-stou-skee) finished her career at Nebraska with a 567.64 smallbore average in her senior season. Chrostowski also posted a 575 air rifle average. Chrostowski excelled in the classroom every semester of her Husker career, finishing with eight total appearances on the Big 12 Commissioiner's Honor Roll.

2006-07: Junior Season
Chrostowski completed her junior season as a regular on both the air rifle and smallbore lineups. She competed in all 12 competitions, including the NCAA Championships. Chrostowski earned second-team air rifle and combined honors, as well as honorable-mention accolades in smallbore at the GARC Championships in Oxford, Miss. She ended the 2006-07 season with a smallbore season average of 571.6 and an air rifle average of 583.9.

For her dedication in the classroom, Chrostowski also earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the spring and fall, giving her six career appearances on the league academic honor roll.

2005-06: Sophomore Season
Chrostowski was a mainstay in both the smallbore and air rifle lineups for the Huskers in her sophomore campaign. She especially came alive during the postseason when she notched a career-high mark of 591 in air rifle at the GARC Championships. She went on to post a smallbore score of 584 at the NCAA Championships.

In addition to her collegiate accomplishments, Chrostowski traveled to Puerto Rico in November of 2005 to compete as part of the Championship of America’s Team and returned to Nebraska as the CAT women’s smallbore champion.

2004-05: Freshman Season
Chrostowski brought a solid work ethic to the Huskers during her first season in Lincoln. She stepped up early in the season and competed regularly in smallbore, ultimately landing third-team NRA All-America honors in air rifle following her performance at the NCAA Championships.

Chrostowski shot a season-best 580 in smallbore three times in 2004-05, and finished the year ranked third on the team with an average score of 576.31. She added a season-best score of 586 in the air rifle against Xavier on Jan. 29.

Before Nebraska
A member of Coach Michele Makucevich’s Newport Junior Rifle Club in Rhode Island, Chrostowski enjoyed an impressive career in the junior ranks. She is a distinguished expert at both three-position smallbore and air rifle. Chrostowski placed sixth overall in smallbore at the 2003 Junior Olympics, and was the 2004 Rhode Island State Junior Olympic champion in both smallbore and air rifle. In addition, she was the 2004 Rhode Island state junior and senior league champion. In 2005, Chrostowski placed second in smallbore at the USA Shooting National Championships.

Personal
The daughter of Joseph and Linda Chrostowski, Kim was born on April 15, 1986, in Newport, R.I. Chrostowski, who is a history major at Nebraska, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.6. She graduated from PortsmouthHigh School in 2004, where she served as the tutorial chair for the National Honor Society. Chrostowski has one older sister, Stephanie Gzybowski (27), and a brother-in-law, Chris Gzybowski.
