Junior (2023-24)
Harry Crockett has been one of Nebraska's most consistent contributors in his second season as a Husker. The junior from Oxted, England, ranks second on the team with a 72.24 stroke average as the only Husker to compete in all 29 team rounds on the year entering the Big Ten Championship (April 26-28).
Crockett has finished among the top 35 golfers individually in seven of Nebraska's 10 tournaments, including a career-best second-place finish with a school-record-tying 203 (-10) at the Hawkeye Invitational (April 13-14). He put together impressive rounds of 67, 68 and 68 on a par-71, 7,197-yard layout at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, trailing only Wisconsin's Cameron Huss, who fired a 201 (-12).
Crockett's performance at Iowa was his third top-15 finish of the season, including a tie for third at 209 (-7) at the Everett Buick GMC Classic (Oct. 16-17). He closed the fall campaign with back-to-back rounds of 68 after opening with a 73 on the par-72, 7,115-yard layout of the Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark. He ended the fall with a 71.94 stroke average over 15 rounds.
His performance in Arkansas followed a tie for 12th with an even-par 213 (70-72-71) at the Purdue Fall Invitational (Oct. 9-10). Crockett helped the Huskers to a top-five team finish in a 15-team field in West Lafayette, Ind.
Crockett, who missed the 2023 spring season, opened the fall as Nebraska's No. 5 finisher with a 222 (+12) in a tie for 60th at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate (Sept. 8-10). He carded rounds of 77, 73 and 72 on the par-70, 7,200-yard layout at the Tennessee National Golf Club.
He followed with Nebraska's No. 2 individual finish at the Bearcat Invitational (Sept. 18-19), tying for 30th overall with a 216 (+3) that included consistent rounds of 71, 73 and 72 on the par-71, 7,279-yard layout of the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati.
He tied for 45th with a 220 (+4) that included rounds of 75, 71 and 73 at the Badger Invitational (Oct. 1-3), before leading the Huskers at Purdue and UALR to close the fall.
Crockett opened the spring with a tie for 53rd at 153 (78-75) in the rain-shortened Battle at Briar's Creek in Johns Island, S.C. (Feb. 5-6). He matched teammate Hamish Murray for Nebraska's best individual finish at The Gator in Gainesville, Fla. (Feb. 16-17), tying for 35th at 215 (+5) on the par-70, 6,701-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course. Crockett's performance included an opening-round 68 (-2) before adding rounds of 72 and 75.
He played solid golf for the Big Red at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island (March 11-12), finishing 34th with an even-par 216 (70-75-71) on the par-72, 7,060-yard layout of the Plantation Course at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.
Crockett added a 33rd-place finish with a 229 (+13) at the Calusa Cup in Naples, Fla. (April 8-9), that included rounds of 73, 78 and 78 on a par-72, 7,320-yard layout at the Calusa Pines Golf Club.
A two-time NJCAA All-American at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College before joining the Huskers prior to the 2022-23 season, Crockett set the Husker single-season stroke average record (71.82) over 11 fall rounds in 2022.
Sophomore (2022-23)
Crockett made an immediate impact on Nebraska’s lineup in the fall of 2022. The two-time NJCAA All-American at Hutchinson CC produced a Nebraska record 71.82 stroke average through 11 fall rounds, including a third-place finish at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
Before Nebraska
A two-time NJCAA All-American in 2021 and 2022 and one of just 24 players across all divisions of college golf to earn a spot on the 2021 All-Nicklaus Team, Crockett led Hutchinson CC to back-to-back NJCAA Division I Championships. He was the NJCAA individual runner-up as a freshman in 2021 while powering the Blue Dragons to their first NJCAA men’s golf title. He added a third-team All-America award as a sophomore.
A finalist for the NJCAA Mickelson Most Outstanding Freshman Award in 2021, Crockett was a two-time NJCAA District III/Region VI champion, a two-time first-team All-Region VI and first-team All-Jayhawk Conference honoree in 2021 and 2022. He produced a 71.6 stroke average as a freshman, including 17 rounds under par.
Crockett also won an individual tournament title at the Jayhawk Conference No. 2, as a precursor to his Jayhawk Conference runner-up performance. He closed the Jayhawk No. 2 Tournament with a three-round total of 198 (-15) that included a second-round 62 (-9).
Personal
The son of Simon and Tracey Crockett, Harry was born Jan. 20, 2002. Harry’s older brother, Charlie, was a teammate on Hutchinson’s national championship team in 2021. Charlie was a second-team All-SEC and PING All-Central Region selection for the Tigers in 2022-23. Harry is majoring in communication studies and is a two-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection.
