2011-12 (Freshman)
Corey Hilliard Jr. has provided depth in the backcourt, making 12 appearances on the season as he has totaled nine points and five rebounds while averaging 4.3 minutes per game.  The 6-foot-1 combo guard showed early promise, scoring six points on 2-of-2 shooting from the floor in a win over Rhode Island but that would be his final appearance for eight games, as he was out for nearly a month with a groin injury. He returned to practice in mid-December and was cleared to play just in time for the start of Big Ten play.

His return came at an opportune time, as the Huskers were already without a pair of regulars in the lineup, giving him a chance to earn minutes early in conference play. After playing four minutes against No. 11 Wisconsin on Dec. 27, he did not commit a turnover in a career-high 10 minutes against No. 16 Michigan State on New Year's Eve.  Against sixth-ranked Ohio State on Jan. 3, he made his only shot from the floor in collecting his first two points since he was sidelined.

With the return of Dylan Talley, Hilliard saw limited time over the next eight games, as didn't play in four games and was used as a defensive replacement in three others. His only extensive time was the final seven minutes of work at the point guard spot against No. 6 Ohio State on Jan. 21 when he had one points and an assist.   He also played seven minutes against No. 22 Michigan on Feb. 8, and missed his only shot and grabbed a rebound in three minutes of action at Penn State on Feb. 11. He played four minutes against Illinois on Feb. 18, but had a recurrance of the injury that sidelined him during non-conference play and missed NU's final five games.

Before Nebraska
Hilliard was one of the top combo guards in the Midwest playing for Coach Brad Oestreich at Raytown South High School. A two-time all-state performer, Hilliard averaged 17.4 points, 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game in helping Raytown South to a 20-6 mark. A second-team all-state honoree by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association despite missing a month of the season, Hilliard had six 20-point games as a senior, including a season-high 27-point night against Fort Osage. He was ranked as the No. 7 prospect in Missouri following his senior season.

Hilliard was a three-star selection by both Rivals.com and Scout.com and rated as the No. 52 point guard nationally by ESPN.com. A three-year starter, he was named district MVP as a junior, averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in helping Raytown South to a 21-7 record. He reached double figures in 19 contests, including a season-high 23 points against Raytown High, and had single-game bests of seven assists, and six steals as a junior. He moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore, averaging 10.8 points, 3.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game to earn first-team all-conference honors.
Hilliard spent the summer prior to his senior year playing for the Kansas City Pump 'N Run team and Coach LJ Goolsby, winning four tournament titles on the AAU circuit. Prior to joining the Kansas City Pump 'N Run program, he played for Coach Nodie Newton in the Kansas City Truth AAU program.
