2011-12 (Senior)
Bo Spencer put together a prolific offensive season in his only season at Nebraska. The 6-foot-2 guard led the Huskers in scoring at 15.4 points per game, while also adding 3.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game and shooting 87.6 percent from the foul line. He ranked among the Big Ten leaders in five categories including scoring (15.1 ppg, 9th), assists (3.4 apg, 12th), steals (1.3, 12th), free throw percentage (87.1, 1st) and 3-pointers per game (2.0, 5th). His 32.5 minutes per game was the second-highest total by a Husker in the last decade, while his 15.4 ppg was the highest average since 2004-05. Spencer reached double figures a team-high 23 times, including nine 20-point performances, which is the most by any Husker in six years.

Spencer led the Huskers in the Big Ten Tournament with 22 points for his ninth 20-point game of the season. He had four such efforts in Big Ten play, including 23 points at Minnesota on March 3. Spencer scored all 23 of his points in the second half, which is one off Nebraska's record for scoring in a single half. Spencer also went 7-of-12 from 3-point range, which was also one shy of Nebraska's single-game record. His other 20-point games in Big Ten action included 27 points against Illinois on Feb, 18, 24 points at Northwestern on Feb, 2 and 23 points in a win over No. 11 Indiana on Jan. 18.

In conference play, he led NU and tied for 12th in scoring at 14.6 points per game while also finishing second in free throw percentage (87.8), fifth in 3-pointers made per game (2.0) and 13th in steals per game (1.2).

He enjoyed his best offensive game of the year at Creighton on Dec. 4, pouring in 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting and adding five rebounds in the highest scoring effort by a Husker since 2007-08. Spencer led Nebraska to a road win at TCU on Dec. 10 with a 22-point effort, as he hit 7-of-12 shots from the floor. At USC on Nov. 14, he had 22 points, including the tying basket in overtime and the go-ahead bucket in double overtime, and also tied a personal best with seven rebounds. Against Rhode Island on Nov. 20, he had 23 points, four assists and three steals.

Spencer sat out the 2010-11 season after transferring from LSU.  

Before Nebraska
Spencer became more of an offensive threat during his junior season at LSU, ranking 15th in the SEC with 14.5 points per game while also dishing out 2.7 assists and hauling in 2.5 rebounds per contest. He was among the SEC leaders in minutes (36.2 per game, 2nd) and free throw percentage (83.9 percent, 3rd), hitting on 99-of-118 shots from the charity stripe.

Spencer was second on the team in scoring and assists, while pacing the team with 61 3-pointers. He had 11 games of at least 20 points in 2009-10, including a 28-point performance against Western Kentucky in a second-round win in the Preseason NIT. He also put up 25 points in consecutive games against Kentucky and Tennessee.

Spencer became the starter at point guard as a sophomore, starting 32 games for an LSU team that went 27-8 and lost to eventual national champion North Carolina in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. He averaged 11.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for the SEC regular-season champions while averaging 31.2 minutes per contest. Spencer totaled 20 double-figure performances, including a season-high 21 points against Jackson State and Arkansas, when he went 5-for-6 from 3-point range. He dished out 87 assists on the season, including a pair of six-assist games, and connected on 40.3 percent of his 3-point attempts on the year.

As a freshman, he played in 30 contests, averaging 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. He totaled double figures in four contests, including a 14-point performance against Arizona State when he hit 4-of-8 shots from 3-point range, in the Maui Invitational.

Spencer was one of the top high school players in Louisiana for Coach Harvey Adger at Glen Oaks High School. He led the school to a pair of Class 4A state titles. As a senior, he was an all-state performer who averaged 26 points, seven assists and four rebounds a game, while totaling over 2,000 career points.  

Personal
Bo is the son of John and Vanessa Spencer and was born on March 21, 1989. He has one brother, John, and two sisters, Tonya and Tamara. Bo majored in sociology and earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in August of 2012.
