2001-02 (Junior)
Thomas joined the squad after NU's appearance in the Rose Bowl National Championship game. He came on to play in 16 contests, including his first three career starts when John Turek went down with an ankle injury. Thomas recorded career-high averages for points (4.6 ppg) and rebounds (3.8 rpg), as well as minutes played (286) in 2001-02.

Thomas made solid contributions as a starter by recording a double-double in his first career start against Missouri. He had 12 points and 11 rebounds with two assists against the Tigers. He started three games for Nebraska when forward John Turek went down with an ankle injury. Thomas finished the year with 60 rebounds, including an amazing 55 percent (33) on the offensive glass.

2000-01  (Sophomore)
Thomas joined the basketball team for the first time in his career in January 2001 before playing in 17 games for the Huskers, averaging 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 195 minutes.

He hit 32.3 percent (10-of-31) from the floor and 68.8 percent (11-of-16) from the free-throw line. Solid defensive play helped Thomas record seven steals, and he contributed three assists on the year. Thomas came off the bench in every contest he played, and saw at least 10 minutes of action in 13 games.

His best performance came when he connected on 3-of-5 shots from the floor for a season-high six points against Kansas State. He also added four rebounds against the Wildcats, including three offensive boards. He had a season-high six rebounds with two points in an overtime victory against Oklahoma State.

1999-2000  (Freshman)
Thomas was not a member of the Husker basketball team during the 1999-2000 season. In the fall of 1999, he was a redshirt-freshman on the football team, helping Nebraska to the 1999 Big 12 title.

High School
Thomas was a four-year letterwinner for Coach Terrance Turner at OmahaNorthHigh School. He earned All-Nebraska honors from the Omaha World-Herald after averaging 15.9 points and nine rebounds per game as a senior in 1998. Thomas led Omaha North to a 15-5 record in his final season.

Thomas was a multiple-sport standout, as he also earned USA Today honorable-mention All-America honors in football, along with Omaha World-Herald and first-team super-state honors from the Lincoln Journal Star as a defensive lineman in 1997 after recording 90 tackles and 14 sacks as a senior. As a wide receiver, Thomas averaged 15 yards per catch in his final season.

Thomas also lettered three times in track and field. He cleared 6-7 in the high jump, and went 44 feet in the triple jump. He also had a personal best of 23 feet in the long jump.

Personal
Wilson is the son of Darcel Brown and Wilson Thomas Sr. He was born Oct. 21, 1979. Wilson is majoring in business management at Nebraska.
