Senior (1991-92)
Carl Hayes finished a spectacular career as a Husker by leading the team to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, where they lost to Big East powerhouse Connecticut. Hayes did more in his three years of playing than most players do in four, becoming one of just 14 players at the time to score 1,000 career points (there are currently 23 Huskers who have achieved the feat). Hayes was third on the team as a senior with a 12.0 points per game average. He was one of five Huskers on the 1991-92 squad to average in double figures. Hayes' 20 blocks as a senior placed him at third on the all-time blocks list (now ninth).
