2020-21 (FRESHMAN)
Elijah Wood played a reserve role for the Huskers as a true freshman, playing in 13 games and totaling 10 points and five rebounds. He played in nine conference games, recording a steal and a basket in a win over Rutgers and a steal at No. 25 Ohio State. Wood's best game of the season came against Doane, when he had a season-high eight points, including a 3-pointer to beat the first-half buzzer, three rebounds and an assist against Doane. He also played nine minutes in the win over McNeese State, dishing out two assists and grabbing a pair of rebounds. 

BEFORE NEBRASKA
Wood was ranked among the top 150 players in the country by both Rivals and 247 Sports and a four-star recruit by both websites in the spring of 2019, but fell out of the rankings after not playing AAU basketball after his junior year. He spent his senior year at Berkmar (Ga.) High School, helping Coach Greg Phillips’ squad to a 18-10 record and a Class AAAAAAA quarterfinals appearance. He averaged 10 points, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game during his senior campaign.

Wood, who originally signed with Rhode Island in the fall of 2019, played his sophomore and junior seasons at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. As a junior, he averaged 11 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 blocks per game.  Wood reached double figures in 12 of 19 contests and dished out five or more assists eight times as a junior. During his sophomore year, he moved into the lineup and averaged 11.5 points, 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. His season was highlighted by a 10-point, 11-assist double-double vs. Northwest. Wood, who chose Nebraska over schools such as Florida, Mississippi, Providence and TCU among others, played AAU basketball with Team Thrill.

PERSONAL
Elijah is the son of Anthony and Evelyn Wood and was born on Nov. 30, 2000, in Silver Spring, Md. He has three brothers (Anthony, Maliik and Samni). Elijah's father (Anthony) played basketball at Hampton University from 1988 to 1990, leading the team with 5.4 assists per game in 1988-89. Elijah has not declared a major at Nebraska.
