Austen Everson is in his fifth season as a full-time member of the Nebraska football staff. He is in his second season as the assistant director of football operations, after serving as the director of high school relations for three years from 2010 to 2012. A native of Brentwood, Tenn., Everson previously served as a football operations intern at NU from June 2008 to January 2009.
In his current role, Everson assists Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations Jeff Jamrog in a variety of duties, including a key role in team travel.
Everson earned his bachelor’s degree in 2007 in management from Ohio University, where he was a four-year letterwinner at quarterback and two-year team captain during his junior and senior seasons under former Nebraska coach Frank Solich. During his undergraduate career, Everson was a two-time academic All-MAC selection, a National Football Foundation National Honor Society inductee and a Draddy Trophy semifinalist while also earning accolades in the weight room as the All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year.
Following graduation, Everson served as a development intern for the Ohio Athletic Department in the summer of 2007, before becoming a graduate assistant in the administration office. He worked with Ohio’s senior woman administrator for nearly two years while earning master’s degrees in business administration in 2008 and sports administration in 2009.
Everson married the former Leah Luther of Lexington, Neb., in May of 2014.
