1990 (Senior)
The most prolific place-kicker in Husker history at the time of his graduation, Gregg Barrios (pronounced BAR-ee-ose) hit 127-of-129 PATs in his four-year career, while connecting on 26-of-35 field goals to finish with 205 career points. A four-year letterman, Barrios went a perfect 15-for-15 on career field goals of 30-39 yards, while going 5-of-11 on kicks of 40-plus yards. He boomed a career-long 50-yard field goal in the 1989 Orange Bowl to give Nebraska’s its only points against Miami.

Barrios scored 87 points as a senior, hitting 45-of-47 PATs while connecting on 14-of-19 field goals.

1989 (Junior)
Nebraska’s starting place-kicker, Barrios went a perfect 57-for-57 on PATs, while hitting 6-of-7 field goals for the Huskers. He finished the season with 75 total points, sharing kicking duties with Chris Drennan. Barrios earned honorable-mention All-Big Eight accolades from the conference coaches while extending his streak of consecutive PATs to 82 to open his career.

1988 (Sophomore)
Barrios earned his second varsity letter after going 24-for-24 on PATs and connecting on 6-of-9 field goals while appearing in nine games for the Big Eight champion Huskers. He also boomed a career-long 50-yard field goal against Miami in the 1989 Orange Bowl. He finished the regular season with 42 points.

1987 (Redshirt)
Barrios redshirted in his second season at Nebraska.

1986 (Freshman)
Barrios lettered for the first time as a true freshman, appearing in four games primarily on kickoffs, while also hitting his first career PAT. A walk-on from Omaha Creighton Prep, Barrios also hit two field goals and three PATs for the Nebraska freshman team.

Omaha Creighton Prep High School
Barrios was a high school All-American and two-time all-state kicker for Coach Tom Jaworski at Creighton Prep. He also kicked on two state championship teams for the Junior Jays.

Personal
The son of Frank and Margie Barrios, Gregg was born at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. He majored in criminal justice.
