1989 (Senior)
Chris Drennan earned his third varsity letter while sharing place-kicking duties with Gregg Barrios as seniors in 1989. Drennan appeared in 10 games and served as Nebraska’s kicker on long field goal attempts. He went 3-for-3 on attempts of 40-49 yards, after kicking off the year with a career-long 55-yard field goal in the fourth quarter of Nebraska’s season-opening win over Northern Illinois. He went 1-for-3 on field goal attempts of 50-plus yards, while hitting all of seven of his PATs. He finished the year with 19 points. He also hit a 39-yard field goal in the 1990 Fiesta Bowl, while adding one PAT. He also notched an unassisted tackle.

Drennan closed his four-year career by appearing in 33 regular-season games. He hit 88-of-90 PATs and 14-of-20 field goals to finish with 130 career points. He was 3-for-4 from 20-29 yards, 1-1 on kicks of 30-39 yards, 8-of-10 from 40-49 yards and 2-of-4 from 50-plus. He also recorded two career tackles (one solo). He went on to a six-year career as a kicker in the Arena Football League, playing with the Cleveland Thunderbolts (1992), Albany Firebirds (1993, 1997), Tampa Bay Storm (1994), Connecticut Coyotes (1995), Charlotte Rage (1996) and the Florida Bobcats (1997).

1988 (Junior)
Drennan split time with Barrios at kicker for the Big Eight champion Huskers. In 10 games, Drennan hit 28-of-30 PATs, while going 3-for-4 on field goals to finish with 37 points. His first made field goal was a season-long 40 yards against Arizona State, while he added a pair of field goals inside 30 yards.

1987 (Sophomore)
Drennan earned his first letter as Nebraska’s starting place-kicker as Barrios redshirted in 1987. Drennan went a then-school-record 53-for-53 on PATs and connected on 6-of-8 field goals, including a season-long 50-yarder in the regular-season finale against Colorado. He also went 3-for-4 on 40-49-yard attempts. In the 1988 Fiesta Bowl, Drennan went 4-for-4 on PATs, which was a Nebraska bowl record at the time.

1986 (Redshirt)
Drennan redshirted in his second season as a Husker, while senior Dale Klein handled Nebraska’s place-kicking chores.

1985 (Freshman)
Drennan saw action in two games for Nebraska as a true freshman. He hit a 42-yard field goal on his first career attempt against New Mexico. He did not kick for the Husker freshman team.

Cypress High School
Drennan hit 7-of-9 field goals, including kicks of 51 and 52 yards as a senior at Cypress High School in California. He also earned all-county and all-conference honors as a soccer player, scoring 25 goals in 14 games as a senior. He turned down soccer scholarship offers from UCLA and Columbia as well as an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in order to play football at Nebraska.

Personal
The son of Robert and Jacqueline Drennan, Chris was born in Titusville, Fla. He was a business administration major at Nebraska.
