1989 (Senior)
After playing in every game as a reserve on the offensive line in 1987 and 1988, Bill Bobbora (pronounced bo-BOR-ah) took over the starting job at right guard beginning with the second game of the 1989 season against Utah. The three-time letterman became a vital cog in an O-line that powered Nebraska to its sixth NCAA rushing title in 10 seasons. The Huskers averaged 375.3 rushing yards per game on their way to ranking third nationally in total offense (513.3 ypg) and second in scoring (44.7 ppg). He helped clear the way for I-back Ken Clark to rush for over 3,000 career yards. Bobbora helped the Huskers earn a trip in the 1990 Sunkist Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. One of several excellent student-athletes on the O-line, Bobbora carried better than a 3.5 GPA as a psychology major to earn first-team Academic All-Big Eight honors before claiming a spot on the GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII team.

1988 (Junior)
Bobbora played in every game as the alternate right guard behind John Nelson, helping Nebraska claim the NCAA rushing title (382.3 ypg), while ranking sixth nationally in scoring (39.5 ppg) and seventh in total offense (477.9 ypg). Grobe also helped the Huskers to a berth in the 1989 Orange Bowl against Miami.

1987 (Sophomore)
Originally listed as Nebraska’s alternate at left tackle prior to the season, Bobbora moved to right guard early in the year and lettered as an alternate behind consensus All-American John McCormick. Bobbora played in every regular-season game, helping the Big Red to a 10-2 overall record and a trip to the 1988 Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. Nebraska ranked second nationally in total offense (489.0 ypg), while ranking third in the NCAA in rushing (373.5 ypg) and scoring (38.5 ppg).

1986 (Redshirt)
Bobbora redshirted in his second season at Nebraska in 1986.

1985 (Freshman)
Bobbora started at left guard for Nebraska’s 5-0 freshman team.

Amarillo High School
An outstanding defensive lineman for Coach Larry Dippel, Bobbora selected Nebraska early in the recruiting season and canceled visits to Texas Tech, Baylor Notre Dame and Texas-Arlington.
