He booted a long punt of 64 yards on the season. He totaled 2,018 yards on 49 punts over 11 games. He also hit 16-of-17 PATs and went 1-for-4 on field goals, backing up Dale Klein at place-kicker. Livingston earned honorable-mention All-America honors from the Associated Press, while adding first-team All-Big Eight accolades from the AP and UPI. He helped Nebraska to a 10-2 record that included a 28-10 Sugar Bowl win over LSU.

In his career, Livingston totaled 62 points, connecting on 51-of-54 PATs, while going 3-for-7 on field goals. He averaged 41.0 yards on 83 career punts in two seasons as a Husker.

1983 (Junior)
Livingston handled nearly all of Nebraska’s punting duties and a large share of the place-kicking and kickoff chores for the Huskers. Livingston punted just 34 times the entire season, as Nebraska featured the nation’s No. 1 scoring offense (52.0 ppg) and No. 1 rushing offense (401.7 ypg). The Big Red also ranked second nationally in total offense (546.7 ypg) while featuring Heisman Trophy winner Mike Rozier at I-back. Livingston averaged 40.8 yards per game, which would have ranked third in the Big Eight but he was 10 punts shy of the minimum required to qualify for conference rankings. He boomed a season-long 60-yarder. Livingston connected on 35-of-37 on PATs and 2-of-3 field goals, including a 43-yarder in the win over Oklahoma. He finished as Nebraska’s sixth-leading scorer with 43 points during the regular season. In the Orange Bowl loss to Miami, Livingston was 3-for-3 on PATs, but just 1-of-3 on field goals with misses from 44 (blocked) and 47 yards. He punted three times for an average of 37.3 yards per punt in the 31-30 loss to the Hurricanes.

He booted 71 punts on the season, earning team MVP honors for a 3-7 squad. He was an honorable-mention Junior College All-American, while adding all-league and all-state honors.

1981 (Southern California)
Livingston earned a scholarship from USC out of high school in 1981. He went 2-for-3 on PATs and 1-for-3 on field goals in his only season with the Trojans. His make was a career-long 47-yarder. He did not attempt a punt.
