2009 Outlook
Redshirt freshman Quentin Toailoa (pronounced toe-uh-loa) made the move to the offensive line during spring practice and is expected to provide depth on an experienced unit this fall. The 6-4, 295-pound Toailoa is projected to line up at guard. Toailoa began his Nebraska career on the defensive line, but spent the majority of last season on the sidelines after a shoulder injury.
2008 (Redshirt)
Toailoa spent his first season in the program as a redshirt.
Before Nebraska (Redlands East Valley HS)
Toailoa was one of three native Californians in Nebraska’s 2008 signing class. Toailoa joined the Huskers after an outstanding prep career at Redlands East Valley High School where he helped his team to a 12-1 record in 2007, before a loss in the semifinals of the playoffs. Toailoa racked up better than 90 tackles during his senior season, including three sacks. His performance netted him first-team all-league honors as a defensive tackle.
Toailoa also earned all-league honors as a junior, when he compiled 70 tackles and three sacks. Toailoa was regarded as one of the nation’s top 50 defensive tackles by both
Scout.com and ESPN.com. Toailoa chose Nebraska over offers from Oregon State, Utah, Arizona and Fresno State among others.
