Nick Failla joins the Nebraska program after a standout prep career at Class A powerhouse Millard North. Failla was an honorable-mention all-state pick for Coach Fred Petito as a senior when he rushed for 946 yards and 11 touchdowns from his quarterback spot. Failla had an outstanding junior season in 2007, rushing for 1,845 yards and 25 touchdowns, while passing for another 477 yards and three touchdowns. His efforts helped the Mustangs to the Class A state title game, and Failla was a first-team Super State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star and an All-Nebraska selection by the Omaha World-Herald. Failla made the decision to walk on at Nebraska despite scholarship offers from UNO, South Dakota and Northwest Missouri State. He was a high school teammate of current NU players Mike Caputo, Brian Thorson and Sean Fisher.
