Senior (1984)
An anchor of the 1984 Husker offensive line, Mark Traynowicz was a consensus All-America choice. He just missed being a first-round NFL draft pick when the Buffalo Bills made him the first player chosen in the second round in 1985. Traynowicz played in the Japan Bowl along with teammates Bret Clark and Jeff Smith following their senior seasons. A CoSIDA Academic All-American and a two-time academic All-Big Eight selection, Traynowicz carried a 3.60 GPA in engineering.
Junior (1983)
Consistently graded as well as or better then Dean Steinkuhler in 1983. Talented and smart, Traynowicz was an All-Big Eight pick by United Press International and earned academic all-conference honors with a 3.80 grade-point-average (out of 4.0) in engineering.
