1980 (Senior)
Franklin lettered for the fourth straight year as he completed his third season as Nebraska's starting fullback.  He rushed 120 times for 678 yards, including 122-yard efforts against Missouri and Oklahoma. 

1979 (Junior)
In his first full year as the Huskers' starting fullback, Franklin gained 583 yards on 110 carries and provided excellent blocking as Nebraska's fullback.  His top game was against Missouri, when Franklin ran for 81 yards on nine carries against the Tigers.  Franklin also shined against Kansas State, picking up 54 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

1978 (Sophomore)
Franklin took over as Nebraska's starting fullback midway through the season and ran 86 times for 428 yards, an average of 5.0 yards per carry.  Franklin finished the season with three touchdowns and earned honorable mention All-Big Eight honors.

1977 (Freshman)
As a backup fullback for the varsity, Franklin was a rare freshman letterwinner for the Huskers. 

At Anniston High School
Franklin starred for Coach Bill Farrell at Anniston High School.
