2013 (Redshirt)
Daniel Otto redshirted after suffering an early season injury in 2013. The freshman out of Lincoln Northeast High School did not compete in 2013.
Before Nebraska (Lincoln Northeast)
Otto joined the Huskers from Lincoln (Neb.) Northeast High School. He posted a personal-best time of 1:55.48 in the 800 meters, and finished fourth in the event with a time of 1:58.36 at the 2013 Nebraska District A-4. Otto was a two-time captain in cross country and track and field while running for the Rockets. He was a three-time state qualifier in track and field, earning two medals at state.
Personal
Daniel is the son of Paul and Josephine Otto. He was born in Juba, South Sudan. He came to the state of Nebraska in 2004. Daniel has not declared a major at Nebraska.
