2020: Spencer Schwellenbach started all 15 games at shortstop before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Was one of four Huskers to start all 15 games, along with Joe Acker, Aaron Palensky and Cam Chick • Batted .295 (18-for-61), ranking second on the team in hits • Tallied 13 runs scored, tied for second-most on the team • Compiled five RBIs, two doubles and one home run • His five multi-hit efforts were second-most on the team • Opened the season on a five-game hitting streak, scoring at least one run in all five games, with a pair of two-hit performances during that stretch • Went 4-for-6 with one RBI and two runs scored against Arizona State on March 1 • During the final two games of the Columbia series, he went 6-for-9 with one RBI and three runs scored • Smashed a home run against Northern Colorado on March 11.

2019: Schwellenbach started 44 games, with 31 starts at shortstop, six starts at third base and six starts at first base • Batted .275 (44-for-160), ranking third on the team in average and fourth on the team in hits • Ranked second on the team in slugging percentage (.400) and on-base percentage (.415) • Launched five home runs, second-most on the team • Tallied five doubles, 22 RBIs, 26 runs scored and went 6-for-8 on stolen bases • Defensively, ranked second on the team in assists (102) • Compiled 13 multi-hit games, fourth-most on the team, and five multi-RBI performances, tied for sixth-most on the team • Had at least one hit in each of his first seven games at Nebraska • During the doubleheader against Oregon State on Feb. 22, he went 5-for-9 with two runs scored • Doubled as part of a 3-for-4 day against Air Force on March 19 • Smashed three home runs in a four-game span from April 17 to 21, going 7-for-17 during that span against Omaha and Iowa • Went 3-for-4 in the first game of a doubleheader against Michigan on May 17 • Led the Husker offense during the Big Ten Tournament en route to All-Tournament Team honors • Went 7-for-19 with two doubles, two home runs and nine RBIs over five games at the Big Ten Tournament.

Before Nebraska: Schwellenbach played high school baseball at Saginaw Heritage in Michigan under Coach Robert Andrezejewski • Drafted in the 34th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians, but turned down professional baseball to play at Nebraska • Compiled a career batting average of .416 with six home runs, 163 hits, 36 doubles, eight triples, 112 RBIs, 143 runs scored and 35 stolen bases as a four-year varsity letterwinner • Went 18-6 with a 0.73 ERA in 154 innings pitched, while recording five saves, 233 strikeouts and only 27 walks during his career • Named Mr. Baseball for the state of Michigan in 2018 • Three-time all-state selection, including first-team honors in 2017 and 2018 • Three-time first-team all-conference, including conference MVP accolades in 2018 • Named the 2018 Michigan Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year and finalist for the Detroit Athletic Club Male Athlete of the Year Award • Garnered first-team All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball in 2018 • As a senior, went 6-3 with a 0.50 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 56.1 innings pitched, while compiling a .367 batting average with 44 runs scored and 20 RBIs at the plate • As a junior, went 6-3 on the mound with three saves, 96 strikeouts and a 0.65 ERA in 65 innings pitched • Batted .481 as a junior with 15 doubles, 15 stolen bases, 29 RBIs and 45 runs scored • As a sophomore, went 5-0 with two saves, compiling a 0.81 ERA with 38 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched • Batted .448 as a sophomore with 11 doubles, 32 RBIs and 40 runs scored • As a freshman, went 1-0 with a 3.33 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 6.1 innings • Hit .356 as a freshman with six doubles, 34 RBIs and 26 runs scored • Also earned two letters in soccer and one letter in basketball • Earned academic all-conference honors on three occasions and made the President’s Honor Roll • Played summer ball for the Motor City Hit Dogs under Coach Matt Petry.
