2022: Shay Schanaman appeared in 15 games, making 13 starts on the mound for the Huskers. • Went 2-8 with a 4.44 ERA and two complete games. • Totaled 76 strikeouts in 77 innings. • Limited opposing hitters to a .251 batting average. • Had eight starts with at least six innings. • Recorded seven outings with six or more strikeouts. • Struck out a season-high eight hitters against Northwestern State, Ohio State and Iowa. • Tossed a complete-game shutout with three hits and eight strikeouts in 6-0 win vs. Northwestern State. • Had a complete-game performance in 3-2 loss vs. BYU, allowing three runs, all unearned, on two hits and struck out five Cougars in seven-inning game. • Allowed one run in three starts after lasting seven innings vs. Iowa, 6.1 vs. Ohio State and six against Michigan State.

2021: Schanaman appeared in 13 games on the mound, making 12 starts. • Third on the team with 67.1 innings of work. • Posted a 5-2 record with a 5.08 ERA. • Totaled 72 strikeouts on the year. • Had two games with at least 10 strikeouts. • Threw a career-high 7.1 innings while striking out 10 and allowing two runs on three hits in a win vs. Minnesota. • Notched 10 outings with at least five strikeouts. • Struck out a career-high 11 batters in a six-inning outing against Maryland. • Pitched six one-hit innings with five strikeouts in win against Purdue. • Had a four-inning outing in relief against Michigan in lone appearance out of the bullpen on the season. • Totaled six starts with at least six innings. • Tossed seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and five strikeouts in an 18-4 win against NJIT in the Fayetteville Regional.

2020: Schanaman made six relief appearances, tied for the most on the team, before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Led the pitching staff in wins (2) • Compiled a 6.97 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 10.1 innings • After going 0-2 in his first three outings, he went 2-0 and didn’t allow any runs or walks across 7.2 innings during his last three appearances • Pitched twice in the same day, earning the win in the first game of a doubleheader against Columbia on March 7 before tossing 1.0 frame in the second game • Recorded a career-high six strikeouts in a career-high 5.0 innings against Northern Colorado on March 10.

2019: Schanaman came out of the bullpen 19 times, which tied for third on the team • Pitched 22.2 innings and compiled a 1-2 mark with a 3.18 ERA and 23 strikeouts • Earned three saves, second-most on the team behind closer Colby Gomes (13) • Didn’t allow an earned run in his first 10 outings, which spanned a total of 9.1 innings • Earned the save on March 24 against Michigan State when he recorded the final out • Posted three strikeouts in 1.1 no-hit scoreless innings to pick up the win at Creighton on March 26 • Tallied a season-high four strikeouts on April 7 against Purdue when he threw 2.1 innings • Picked up the save on April 13 at Penn State with 1.0 no-hit scoreless inning • Added a save against Arizona State on May 12 when he threw 1.1 scoreless innings • Tossed a season-high 4.0 innings with three strikeouts on May 26 in the Big Ten Tournament championship game against Ohio State and allowed one run, which was unearned.

Before Nebraska: Schanaman played high school baseball at Grand Island in Nebraska under Coach Joe Wells • Earned first-team all-state honors in 2017 and 2018 • Compiled a career batting average of .400 with eight home runs and 80 RBIs • On the mound, he went 11-4 with a 2.43 ERA for his career • As a senior, he batted .391 with 27 runs scored, 41 RBIs, six doubles, one triple and four home runs • As a junior, he batted .396 with 26 runs scored, 20 RBIs, eight doubles, four triples and two home runs • An honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, he graduated in the top 15 percent of his class • Also earned three letters in basketball • Played summer ball for the Nebraska Sluggers under Coach Rollie Kenny and for the STL Gamers under Coaches Matt Whiteside and Scott Cooper.

Personal: Born on Aug. 12, 1999 • Parents are Larry and Kim Schanaman • Has one brother, Sheridan • Hobbies include fishing, hunting, water sports and disc golf • Graduated with his bachelor's degree in economics in December 2021.
