2019: Brett Hammit did not see playing time for the Huskers in 2019.

Before Nebraska: Hammit prepped at Nixa High School in Missouri under Coach Jason Daugherty • Helped the team win a district title and sectional championship in 2016 • Batted .446 with 37 hits, 11 doubles, six home runs, 36 runs scored, 24 RBIs to earn Class 5 conference player-of-the-year honors in 2018 • Also earned first-team all-district, first-team all-conference and first-team All-Ozone in 2018 • Captured All-USA Ozarks accolades in 2017 and 2018 and earned Rawlings-Perfect Game Great Plains All-Region Dream Team honors during both seasons • Ranked as the No. 1 shortstop in Missouri • Registered the farthest hit with a wood bat in the 2017 Power Showcase Home Run Derby • Was an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society.
