2017: Jake Schleppenbach (pronounced Schlep-en-bock) completed his three-year Husker career as a .272 hitter with a .983 fielding percentage • Had 151 career hits, 29 doubles, one triple, five homers and went 15-for-21 on stolen bases • In 2017, led the Husker defense with a .994 fielding percentage and 192 assists, leading NU in the statistical category for the third consecutive year • His .292 average as a senior ranked fifth on the team • Ranked third on the team in doubles (13) • Ranked second on the team in slugging percentage (.448) • Was the lone Husker to play in all 58 games in 2017 • Made all 55 of his starts at second base • Made the Big Ten All-Tournament Team after hitting .455 with a home run during the conference tournament • His five home runs ranked second on the team in 2017 • Hit a grand slam in Nebraska's Big Ten regular-season title-clinching game at Penn State on May 20 • Career-high four hits against Michigan State on Senior Day on May 14 • Went 3-for-4 in the series finale against Rutgers on May 7 • Hit .462 in the series at Ohio State with three doubles and four RBIs • Hit a grand slam against Omaha on April 25 • First career home run came on April 1 at Indiana, and added his second home run om April 9 against Maryland.

2016: Schleppenbach was Nebraska's everyday second baseman in 2016 • Led the Husker defense in assists for the second straight year, including 198 assists in 2016 to rank second on NU's single-season chart behind Joe Simokaitis, who recorded 222 assists in 2005 • Played in 54 of NU's 59 games, including 52 starts • Hit .220 (38-for-173) with seven doubles and 18 RBIs • Performed better during league play with a .243 average, as he played in 23 of NU's 24 Big Ten games • Produced seven multi-hit games, including a three-hit game in the series finale at Rutgers • Notched his second career two-double game in the series opener at Purdue on March 25.

2015: Schleppenbach played in 51 games, including 48 starts, and was one of three Huskers to hit .300 or better, hitting an even .300 (57-for-190) on the year • Roped nine doubles, ranked third on the team with 32 runs scored and drove in 16 • Was third on the team with 17 multi-hit games, including four three-hit performances • Put together a 10-game hitting streak early in the season, the third-longest streak by a Husker in 2015 • Started the season opener at UNLV and went 1-for-3 • Had his first multi-hit game the following day with a 2-for-4 performance against the Rebels • Produced a 3-for-5 performance on Feb. 21 in the series finale against BYU for his first career three-hit game • Was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a career-high two doubles against Florida Gulf Coast on March 13 • Doubled and drove in a season-high two runs in a 3-2 win at Omaha on April 1 • Had three hits and matched a season high with two RBIs in a 7-6 win at Creighton on April 28 • Also drove in a pair of runs against Kansas State on April 21 and at Northwestern on May 3 • Ended the year on a three-game hitting streak, including a 2-for-5 day against Illinois in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Before Nebraska: Schleppenbach transferred to Nebraska after spending one season at Hutchinson Community College • Started 59 games for the Blue Dragons and led the team in multiple categories, including batting average (.388), hits (85), runs (64) and triples (5), while ranking second in home runs (9), RBIs (57) and stolen bases (17) • Was named Jayhawk West Player of the Year and his 85 hits were a school record • Struck out 37 times on the year, while walking 32 times with 16 HBP • Played prep baseball at Pius X High School where he was part of a state title team in 2012 and a runner-up squad in 2013.

Personal: Born on Sept. 23, 1994 • Parents are Gary and Jolene Schleppenbach • Has one sister, Jamie, and two brothers, Nick and Eric • Jamie was a two-time All-American for the NU women's gymnastics team from 2011 to 2014 • Majoring in criminology and criminal justice.
