Hit nearly .400 in his two seasons with a wood bat, belting 21 homers and driving in 134 runs in leading his team to a top-10 national ranking in both 2004 and 2005 ? Collegiate Baseball’s Preseason National Player of the Year in 2005, when he hit .365 with 11 homers, 52 RBIs and 21 doubles to earn third-team All-America honors ? Garnered first-team All-America honors as a freshman, hitting .432 with 10 homers, 82 RBIs and 22 doubles ? Was a 2003 graduate of Bear Creek High School, where he earned first-team All-Colorado honors as a senior, hitting .565 with eight homers and 33 RBIs ?
