Lamar CC/Bear Creek High School: Shriner was a two-time junior college All-American playing for coach Scott Crampton at Lamar (Colo.) Community College ? Hit nearly .400 in his two seasons with a wood bat, belting 21 homers and driving in 134 runs in leading his team to a top-10 national ranking in both 2004 and 2005 ? Collegiate Baseball’s Preseason National Player of the Year in 2005, when he hit .365 with 11 homers, 52 RBIs and 21 doubles to earn third-team All-America honors ? Garnered first-team All-America honors as a freshman, hitting .432 with 10 homers, 82 RBIs and 22 doubles ? Was a 2003 graduate of Bear Creek High School, where he earned first-team All-Colorado honors as a senior, hitting .565 with eight homers and 33 RBIs ? Was a four-year letterwinner on the diamond who was also on the academic honor roll in 2002 and 2003 ? Played for Coach Bob Steinkamp and the Beatrice Bruins during the summer, hitting .290 with 13 doubles, two homers and 18 RBIs in helping the Bruins to a 24-16 record and a ninth-place finish at the NBC World Series ?
