2017: Alex Raburn (pronounced Ray-burn) hit .177 in 25 appearances, which included 17 starts in the infield, one start in left field and one in the DH spot • Had 11 hits, five RBIs and seven runs, while going 1-for-1 on stolen bases • Had a double in the series-opening win over Minnesota on April 21 • Had a hit in each of his last three appearances, including one in the Big Ten regular-season title-clinching game at Penn State on May 20 and a pair of Big Ten Tournament games • Had two hits, two runs and a stolen base against Western Carolina on March 12.

Before Nebraska: Raburn transferred to Nebraska from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after graduating in July of 2016 with one season of eligibility with the Huskers • Was a three-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels and played in the 2013 College World Series • Versatile player who can play all four infield positions and the outfield • Missed the entire 2016 season due to a wrist injury • Played in all 58 games as a junior in 2015, including 44 starts • Hit .243 with six doubles, one triple, three home runs and 26 RBIs • Earned the Walter Rabb Award following his sophomore season in 2014 as the team’s most improved player • Played in 45 games and started 23, including the final 19 games of the 2014 season • Hit .263 with three doubles, one home run and 12 RBIs • Also scored 19 runs and stole three bases • Had 21 of his 25 hits in the final six weeks of the 2014 season • Had three hits in the 2014 Gainesville Regional • Produced a career-high four hits at Miami on May 15, 2014, and hit his first career home run against Gardner-Webb on March 12, 2014 • Saw significant time as a true freshman in 2013, as he played in 34 games and made seven starts in the outfield • Came off the bench in UNC’s College World Series opener against NC State on June 16 • Hit .188 on the year with five RBIs and eight runs scored • Tallied two doubles and did not commit an error • Recorded his first career hit against Stony Brook on Feb. 24, 2013 • Went to North Carolina out of Jordan High School in Durham, N.C., where he played for Devy Bell • Was ranked the No. 414 overall prep player in the nation by Perfect Game and No. 14 player in the state of North Carolina • Named Pac-6 all-conference four times and was twice a 4A all-state selection • Was the team MVP his sophomore and senior seasons • Tabbed as Pac-6 Conference Player of the Year as a junior • Played at the 16U WWBA National Champions with Canes Baseball • Also played football and basketball.

Personal: Born on May 28, 1994, in Durham, N.C. • Parents are Doug and Kay Raburn • Father played football at Hastings College in Nebraska • Has two sisters, Sam and Madde • Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in July of 2016 with a degree in exercise and sports science • Is a graduate student at Nebraska.
