Jake Appleget did not play in a game in 2022.

Before Nebraska (Lincoln Southeast HS)
Appleget joined the Huskers as one of the top players in the state of Nebraska after competing as a two-way starter for Lincoln Southeast High School.

Appleget was an Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska second-team selection as a defensive back and a Lincoln Journal Star second-team Super-State pick as a linebacker. He was also a first-team Class A all-state honoree as a senior. On defense, Appleget totaled more than 70 tackles with one interception and two pass breakups while helping the Knights to the state playoffs. Offensively, he had 30 catches for 427 yards and eight touchdowns with 19 carries for 109 yards and one score. As a junior, Appleget was named a first-team Super-State selection by the Journal Star and was a second-team All-Nebraska honoree.

A three-star recruit, Appleget was ranked as the No. 6 player in the state in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He chose Nebraska over several other scholarship offers, including Minnesota.
