Schutz Breaks School Record at Stanford Invitational

Nebraska track and field junior Berlyn Schutz broke the 5000m school record at the Stanford Invitational, finishing third with a time of 15:39.38. 

Schutz's time beat the old school record of 15:45.29, set by Sammie Resh Gdowski in 1990. The Lincoln native now holds five individual school records and two relay records. 

Ali Bainbridge finished 18th in the 10000m with a time of 33:06.73, the No. 2 time in school history. 

Cami Merickel placed fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase with a new PR of 10:26.39, the No. 7 time in school history. 

On the men's side, Gabe Nash had a pair of top-five finishes, placing third in the 800m (1:49.45) and fourth in the 1,500m (3:47.84). Kaleb Sharp was fifth in the 800m at 1:50.69.
