Huskers Travel to North Carolina for Regular Season Finale

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team (6-7, 3-6 Big Ten) will travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Friday, March 13. NU will take on No. 18 North Carolina and No. 19 Penn State. The meet is slated to begin at 5:45 p.m. (CT) at Carmichael Arena and will be streamed on ACCNX.

NU leads the series against the Tar Heels 7-0 and carries a 46-12 lead over the Nittany Lions. The Huskers fell to Penn State earlier this season at Big Fours, 197.225-195.200.

Last Time Out
NU grabbed a 195.600-195.350 road victory over Texas Woman’s University on Friday. Nebraska earned four event titles in the contest.

Whitney Jencks took home the all-around title with a 39.350. Jencks also took home the bars title with a career-high 9.925 and a share of the beam title with a 9.800. Tegan Shaver earned the first event title of her career with a 9.850 on vault. Isabel Sikon took second in the all-around with a 39.150.

North Carolina is ranked No. 18 in the Road to Nationals Standings, with a NQS score of 196.494 and a highest team score of 197.200. The Tar Heels are 8-8 with notable wins over Minnesota, Auburn and NC State.

Penn State is ranked No. 19 in the Road to Nationals Standings, with a NQS score of 196.478 and a highest team score of 197.250. The Nittany Lions are 6-5 with notable wins over Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers.
