Huskers ranked Sixth in February Coaches Poll

Written byEvan Boldt

The Nebraska Bowling team is ranked sixth in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) February poll released Tuesday. The Huskers are 52-26 on the season and come off a third-place finish in the Columbia 300 Saints Invite in their last tournament.

NU is one of nine Conference USA teams in the top ten of this month's poll, with all 12 CUSA teams present in the top 25. Jacksonville State is ranked first with 41 of the 44 total first-place votes while second-ranked Vanderbilt received the other three first-place votes. Arkansas State, Wichita State, Louisiana Tech and the Huskers round out the top six, as Conference USA holds the top six spots in the February poll.

The Huskers return to action later this month, as Nebraska will host the Big Red Invitational from Feb. 20-22 at Hollywood Bowl. The twelve-team field includes ten ranked teams, with the top-eight programs in the country all in attendance. The Huskers will look to keep building momentum at home after the strong third-place finish in St. Louis.

The Big Red will then round out the regular season with a trip to Greensboro, N.C., for the Stallings Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T from Feb. 27 to March 1 before preparing for the CUSA Conference Championships in mid-March.
