The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is set to kick off its season with the Ameritas Masters Classic this weekend. The meet is slated to start at 3 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center and will be streamed on B1G+.
The Big Red will face off against No. 7 Missouri, along with Wisconsin-La Crosse and Wisconsin-Stout.
The 2026 Nebraska roster is made up of 19 total gymnasts, including 13 returners and six newcomers. NU will return Second-Team All-Big Ten honoree Whitney Jencks.
The returners also include Reese Baechle, Reese Baker, Katelyn Barth, Olivia Burns, Emalee Frost, Allie Gard, Lauren Hollifield, Lauren Homecillo, Nya Kraus, Molly Peterson, Jenna Sartoretto and Isabel Sikon.
Ahnna Kalmes, Karys Griffin, Hailee Bowen, Meredith Brandt, Peyton Pech and Tegan Shaver will compete in their first meet for the Huskers.
Last Time Out
The Huskers finished the 2025 season in the second round of the NCAA regionals, scoring a 195.675. Nebraska also finished ninth at the 2025 Big Ten Championships with a total score of 196.175.
Scouting the Competition
Missouri
Nebraska and Missouri have competed 78 times, with the most recent time coming in 2020, when Missouri captured a 196.450-195.925 victory. The Tigers are ranked seventh in the WCGA preseason poll after a Four on the Floor postseason appearance in 2025.
Wisconsin-La Crosse
The last time Nebraska and the Eagles clashed was in 2016, when NU won 195.350-192.900. The Huskers lead the series 4-0. UW-La Crosse has six seniors on their roster.
Wisconsin-Stout
Nebraska and UW-Stout have faced off one time in 2014, when NU captured a 196.850-188.550 win. The Blue Devils scored 184.950 in their first match of the season and have three seniors on their roster.
