Johansson Named to Bowerman Watch List

Nebraska track and field senior Axelina Johansson was selected to the Bowerman Watch List ahead of the 2026 indoor season. 

The women's preseason watch list included 10 athletes. The Bowerman is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female NCAA track and field athlete. 

Johansson, a native of Hok, Sweden, is a two-time NCAA shot put champion and a six-time All-American. She owns the NCAA indoor record, as well as both indoor and outdoor school records. 

Johansson has won four Big Ten titles at NU and is a two-time runner-up. She competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics and finished 10th.
