Koupal Earns Spot on Naismith High School Midseason Top 25

Nebraska women's basketball signee Ashlyn Koupal was included among the top 25 girls high school players in the country when the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced the Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Midseason Team on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Koupal, a 6-3 senior from Wagner, S.D., recently moved into the top 25 on South Dakota's all-time scoring list, surpassing 2,100 points with a 31-point, 18-rebound effort in a win over Ethan (Jan. 6).

It followed a 38-point, 17-rebound, nine-assist effort in a win over Avon when she broke her aunt Mandy Koupal's previous school scoring record at Wagner.

The reigning South Dakota High School Player of the Year, Ashlyn Koupal is averaging 30.0 points and 15.5 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders this season.

The three-time South Dakota all-stater averaged 22.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.3 steals and 3.5 blocks as a junior.
