Huskers Begin Big Ten Competitions at UCLA

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team will travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to kick off Big Ten competitions this Saturday, Jan. 17, at Pauley Pavilion. The meet is slated to start at 5 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on B1G+.

This matchup marks the 37th time that Nebraska and the Bruins have met. UCLA is the defending Big Ten champions after an undefeated inaugural season in the conference. The last time the two teams faced off was at the 2025 Big Ten Championships, when UCLA grabbed a 198.450-196.175 victory.

Last Time Out
The Huskers kicked off their season hosting the Ameritas Masters Classic against No. 7 Missouri, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout. Nebraska scored a 194.600 and placed second.

Whitney Jencks claimed the all-around title with a 38.575. Isabel Sikon also notched a 38.450 in the all-around to take second.

Scouting the Competition
UCLA is ranked No. 9 in the Road to Nationals standings, with a highest team score of 197.000 in a quad meet against Oklahoma, LSU and Utah. The Bruins are 4-2 on the season, with wins over Utah, Washington, Oregon State and California.

Jordan Chiles led UCLA in its most recent quad meet, earning a 39.575 in the all-around. Chiles also led the team on vault (9.900), bars (9.900) and floor (9.925).
