Huskers Recognized by Softball America

The Nebraska softball team was tabbed preseason No. 11 and four individuals earned Softball America preseason honors.

Rising senior Jordyn Frahm was No. 2 on the organization’s Top 100 Players and was a Softball America Preseason First-Team All-American. The pitcher and utility player was dubbed Softball America’s No. 1 two-way player entering the 2026 season. Frahm was the 2025 NFCA Player of the Year and a First-Team All-American and was a finalist for the Honda Award for Softball and the USA Softball Player of the Year award.

Ava Kuszak, who was NU’s starting shortstop last year, was No. 43 on the Top 100 Players list and was tabbed the No. 5 shortstop, while Hannah Camenzind was named the No. 90 overall player and No. 5 two-way player.

Incoming freshman Alexis Jensen was on Softball America’s Freshman Watch List. Jensen was a 2025 MaxPreps Second-Team All-American and a two-time Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year.

The Huskers came in at No. 11 in the organization’s preseason poll after finishing their season in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament last year. NU returns All-American Frahm from that team, along with All-Region honorees Kuszak, Camenzind, Samantha Bland, Olivia DiNardo and Kacie Hoffmann. The Big Red also adds transfers Jesse Farrell (UNLV) and Hannah Coor (Oklahoma), along with freshman pitcher Jensen.

Nebraska will open its season on Friday, Feb. 6 against Washington at the UTSA Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. The game is set to start at 1:05 p.m. (CT).
