The Huskers remain undefeated entering the match after capping off another impressive weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. NU defeated then-No. 1 TCU, 4,747-4,738 on Nov. 1, and topped Schreiner, 4,742-4,417. The Big Red shot a program-high score of 2,387 in the air rifle against the Horned Frogs, toppling the previous record of 2,386, shot in the Huskers’ season opener against Ohio State on Sept. 27.
“After some much needed rest we are looking forward to being back on the road again,” Head Coach Richard Clark said. “This week the team has gone back to the fundamentals and working on doing the little things at the highest possible level. With the work we’ve seen at practice I’m excited to watch the team go out and perform well this weekend!”
UTEP comes into the match having posted wins against No. 17 Ohio State and No. 13 Murray State, with losses coming at the hands of No. 2 TCU, No. 5 West Virginia, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 10 Air Force, and No. 14 Akron. Nebraska has matched up against UTEP 28 times since 2000, and has won 22 of those matches. NU most recently took down the Miners 4,699-4,670 on Feb. 8 and 9 at the 2025 PRC Championships.
Following the match, the Huskers will head back home for a contest against No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 10 Air Force on Saturday, Nov. 22, in what will be their final match of the fall portion of the season.
