Gates, New York - Former Nebraska bowler Shannon Pluhowsky became Hall of Fame-eligible as she defeated Liz Johnson, 226-175, at the 2025 PWBA Pepsi Open held at ABC Gates Bowl on Saturday evening.

Pluhowsky qualified as the No. 4 seed and took down Anna Andersson in the round of 16. Pluhowsky moved on to face Shayna Ng and swept the match, 3-0. Pluhowsky ended her title run with a win against Lindsay (Baker) Boomershine, another Husker bowling great, before she went on to defeat Johnson in the final match.

The PWBA Tour Championship rounds out the PWBA tour season, running from August 10-12. The Tour Championship field will be filled with the winners from this season, and those in the top-24 in points.
