The Nebraska soccer team announced the addition of Ángela Moreno, Jo Sees and Alyse Then to the roster on Tuesday. These three along with 13 additional newcomers, will join the Huskers for the 2025 season.
Incoming freshman Moreno hails from Madrid, Spain, where she competed for Real Madrid that last five years. Most recently, Moreno helped the team to the Queen's Junior Cup Championship title and scored 20 goals this last season. A graduate of IES Salvador Dali, Moreno plans to major in Exercise Science.
Then, a native of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., comes to Nebraska after one season at Daytona State and a freshman season at SUNY Old Westbury. In 2024, Then started in six games, scoring 11 goals and recording five assists. She also added 26 shots and 18 shots on goal, helping the team to the 2024 NJCAA DI National Championship title. At SUNY, Then was a Skyline All-Conference First Team honoree, as she led the NCAA across all divisions with 30 goals scored, while also tallying nine assists in 17 games.
Before her college career, Then competed for Coach James Bentlry at Comsewogue High School, earning five MVP honors, the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year and 2022 All-County award. On the club side, she played at LGN United under Coach Kim Onek, as she helped the team to two state finals, the 2021 National League Championship and the 2022 Regional Championship.
Sees, a transfer from Kansas State, joins the Huskers after two seasons in Manhattan, where she started 22 games, scoring five goals and three assists, while tallying 36 shots and 18 shots on goal. The native of Highland Ranch, Colo., Sees was a member of the Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team and received a Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor and the Big 12 All-State Academic Award.
Sees attended Valor Christian High School and was a two-time honoree of the First Team All-League, a member of the All-State Second Team, an All-State Honorable Mention and a three-time recipient of the All-State Academic Award. She helped her team to two league championships, while scoring 22 goals and recording 12 assists. On the club side, Sees competed for Coach Lyle Lebere at Real Colorado 04 ECNL National. She was named the Colorado State Cup Championship MVP and helped the team to a conference championship in 2021 and 2022.
