Hoiberg Named Academic All-District

Nebraska guard Sam Hoiberg was honored Tuesday, as he was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.

A two-time all-district selection, Hoiberg carries a 3.70 cumulative GPA in sports media and communications at Nebraska. This season, he has played in all 31 games for the Huskers, averaging 3.8 points, 1.6 assists and a team-high 1.3 steals per game. The junior guard shot 46 percent from the field, including 38 percent from 3-point range. He has appeared in 86 games over the past three seasons at Nebraska, helping NU to back-to-back postseason appearances in 2024 and 2025.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, nominees must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, complete one full calendar year at their current institution and be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve to the team and played in at least 90 percent of games this season.

The Huskers will take on Arizona State in the first game of the College Basketball Crown next Monday, March 31. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (central) and the game will be shown on FS1 and carried on the Huskers Radio Network.
