Tominaga, Wilcher Participate in Commencement Ceremonies

A pair of Husker men’s basketball players  participates in graduation ceremonies on Saturday morning inside Memorial Stadium. Keisei Tominaga graduated on Saturday, while C.J. Wilcher participated in commencement ceremonies after earning his undergraduate degree in December. Both players played a significant role in helping Nebraska improve its win total in each of the past three seasons, culminating in a third-place finish in the Big Ten in 2023-24. In all, a total of 103 Husker student athletes will graduate from the University of Nebraska this weekend.

Tominaga, who received his degree in child, youth & family studies, was a finalist for Outstanding Male Student-Athlete and Male Athlete of the Year for his achievements in the classroom and on the basketball court. He was a NU Gold Medallion recipient last month with a GPA of at least 3.75 over the previous two semesters and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Tominaga tallied 1,074 points in three seasons at Nebraska en route to All-Big Ten honors in 2023 and 2024. Last season, he averaged a career-high 15.1 points per game as Nebraska won 23 games and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014.

A child, youth and family studies major, Wilcher was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick in the classroom and was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship team in both 2023 and 2024. On the court, he totaled 768 points and shot 37 percent from 3-point range in three seasons as a Husker. He played a significant part in helping the Huskers record 23 wins and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024.
