Cole Partridge earned CGA Rookie of the Week Honors announced the College Gymnastics Association Wednesday afternoon following his performance at the Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday, January 20.
The freshman earned a top-three finish on two different events in his debut collegiate meet at the Huskers’ season opener. Partridge’s performance was highlighted by his third-place finish on high bar where he put up a score of 14.10, ranking third overall in the nation. Partridge also took third on parallel bars where he notched a 14.20, ranking sixth overall in the NCAA and helping No. 3 Nebraska to a second-place finish (409.600).
The Bountiful, Utah native was one of four Huskers to earn a top-three finish at the Rocky Mountain Open in his first collegiate competition.
Oklahoma’s Fuzzy Benas was named CGA Gymnast of the Week and Michigan’s David Wolma was named CGA Specialist of the Week.
The Huskers return to competition for their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 3 against Penn State at the Bob Devaney Center. The meet will be live-streamed on BTN+ at 6:00 p.m. CT.
