Nebraska track and field opens its season on Friday, Dec. 8 at the annual Intrasquad meet at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track. Field events begin at 4:30 p.m. (CT), with running events starting at 5 p.m. (CT). Fans are welcome to attend with free admission to watch the Huskers compete for the first time of the 2023-24 season.
The Huskers are coming off a historic season, with the women capturing their best NCAA finish since 2006, taking eighth. Rhema Otabor and Axelina Johansson were crowned NCAA Champions in the javelin and the shot put. The men placed 17th, marking their best finish since 2016.
The men won the 2023 Big Ten Outdoor Championship and the women placed third behind 12 combined titles. Eight of Nebraska's individual champions are returning for the upcoming season.
