Harris, Otabor Ready for Pan American Games

Two members of Nebraska’s track and field team will compete at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile on Friday, Nov. 3.

Maddie Harris will represent the United States and Rhema Otabor will represent the Bahamas in the javelin at 3:10 p.m. (CT).

Harris owns the school record in the javelin, claiming the USATF Javelin title with a mark of 199-3 (60.73m). She added a fourth-place finish at NCAAs (187-10, 57.26m) and took runner-up honors at the Big Ten Championships (184-10, 56.33m).

Otabor has the second-best mark in school history, winning the javelin at the Bahamian National Championship with a 196-0 (59.75m). As a transfer from FIU, Otabor was named the NCAA Champion (195-2, 59.49m) and the Big Ten Champion (189-9, 57.85m) during her first season as a Husker.
