Adrover Gallego, Lacasse End Run at ITA All-Americans

Cary, N.C. - Nebraska women’s tennis’ Raphaëlle Lacasse and Isa Adrover Gallego ended their doubles run at the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday.

To open play, Lacasse and Adrover Gallego defeated Virginia’s Sara Zioda and Margratet Navarro in the first round of qualifying, 8-7 (1). The duo continued their campaign Monday against Portland, as they defeated Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge 8-2 and advanced to the Round of 16. 

The pair continued their run on Tuesday against TCU, topping Destinee Martins and Isabel Pascual 8-5 to secure a spot in the main draw. On Wednesday, they faced NC State’s Amelia Rajecki and Maddy Zampard but fell 2-0 (6-1, 6-1), and completed their run in the main draw. 

In the Consolation draw, Lacasse and Adrover Gallego defeated Auburn's Ali DeSpain and Adeline Flach 3-6, 7-6 (10-8). The Duo then moved on to the Quarterfinals against the University of South Carolina. Gamecock's Ayana Akli and Sarah Hamner defeated NU 2-0 (6-0, 6-1) to complete their time at ITA All-American. 

Up next, the Huskers travel to Lawrence, Kan., for the ITA Regionals on Oct. 12-16.
