Kelsey Clairmont and Reagan Hinze are headed to compete in the 2023 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., March 7-9.
The Zone Championships, hosted at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center, serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Championships.
Clairmont hit zone-qualifying scores on all three boards during her first time competing each respective event this season. Her career-best three-meter score is 314.25, posted at the Iowa State dual. At the Hawkeye Invitational, Clairmont won the platform title with a career-best 283.15. The freshman from Canada has finished in the top three on 14 occasions this season.
Hinze added a career-best performance at the Hawkeye Invite, with a 301.10 on the three-meter. Her best one-meter score of the season is 272.48 from the Iowa State dual.
On Tuesday, Clairmont and Hinze are set to begin three-meter prelims at 11 a.m. (CT), with finals to follow at 2 p.m. (CT). Hinze will dive on the one-meter Wednesday at 11 a.m. (CT) for prelims and 2:25 p.m. (CT) for finals. On Thursday, Clairmont will take on platform to wrap up the week, with prelims at 11 a.m. (CT) and finals to follow.
In Zone D, the top nine divers in the one- and three-meter and top 10 divers on platform will punch their tickets to nationals.
