Caneda Named to Top 80 Freshmen Names to Know List

Katelyn Caneda was named a Top 80 Freshmen Name to Know by D1Softball. 

Caneda, who was one of six infielders from the Big Ten Conference named, was a standout at second base for Cerritos High School. The freshman led her team to three CIF Southern Section Division 3 Semifinals. Caneda also earned 605 First-Team All-League honors. 

The freshman from Cerritos, Calif., played club all for the Corona Angels under coach Marty Tyson alongside teammate Dakota Carter. Husker All-Americans Taylor Edwards, Tatum Edwards and Cam Ybarra also played for the Angels under Tyson.
