Taylor Takes First at Doane

Crete, Neb. – Freshman Antrell Taylor took home the 157 title, as the Huskers saw six of their 12 wrestlers place in the top six of their weight class at the Doane Open.

A native of Omaha, Taylor grabbed three straight victories to take home the title. At 133, Hayden Mills posted a 3-1 record en route to a second-place finish.

Harley Andrews (285) tallied five wins (two pins, one technical fall and a major decision) and only one loss to finish third. At 141, Blake Cushing recorded two pins and two major decision victories to grab fourth with a 5-1 overall record. Cameron Graham (157) and Quinton Chavez (125) both finished sixth in their respective weight classes.

Alex Thomsen (133), Daniel Monahan (141), Reese Davis (149), Adam Thebeau (165), Nathan Haas (184) and Austin Emerson (285) did not place.
