Anthony Grant Postgame Quotes (Minnesota) - 11-5-22

Mickey Joseph
Nebraska Running Back
Postgame Quotes vs. Minnesota (Nov. 5, 2022)

On the rhythm of the first drive of the game
“I knew I was gonna have to come out better than the other weeks that I did. I knew the responsibility and the expectations that I had on me. I just had to come out ready.

On what expectations he had on him
“Well from last week's game, I wasn't getting 100 yard games or playing to my best ability. My coach and everybody in the running back room had really high expectations of me and everyone on the team. I just knew I had to come out with a little bit more fire and a little bit more readiness.”

On being in rhythm and getting consistent opportunities for running backs
“Yes. The more that I touch the ball the hotter I will be. Progressively I will be better. I have a high motor. Once I get going, there isn't a lot that can stop me.”

On offense responding to two different quarterbacks
“I feel like all the running backs in the room have all the capability of doing the same thing: executing and operating the offense. It wasn't really a big deal for me. Chubba  (Purdy) and Logan (Smothers) stepped in and did their job, took care of the ball and operated how they should.”

On the fire and energy in the second half
“Coming out of the second half, we have to think the score is zero-zero. I really felt like we just took too long to get things going. Some plays we could have executed or made a play and just took longer. We just have to start faster and pick it up sooner coming out of the half.”
