Huskers Second After Day One at Motiv Penguin Classic

Struthers, Ohio - The Nebraska bowling team went 4-1 on Friday at the Motiv Penguin Classic with a total pinfall of 5,178. The Huskers finished the day in second place.   

The Huskers who are third in the NTCA poll, won against Mercyhurst (1,137-1,061), Wright State (1,104-868), No. 19 Morgan State (1,024-912) and No. 9 Youngstown State (1,044-976), with only one loss on the day to Medialle (870-915). 

The Big Red will resume play tomorrow at 9:25 a.m. (CT) against Valparaiso in the traditional format, followed by Arkansas State, Duquesne, Walsh and Central Missouri. 

Results from Friday and Saturday will determine the seeding for Sunday's Championship bracket. During this championship tournament, each team will play three traditional matches followed by one best-of-seven Baker match.
