Ty Robinson Quotes - 10-11-22

Ty Robinson
Nebraska Defensive Lineman
Pre-Purdue
Press Conference

On the schedule change
“I think what Coach Mickey has done with our schedule is a bit better for us. I really like how we come in on Sundays and do a lot more of active recovery stuff. We will do a light lift band stretching and kind of get the blood flowing so as Monday comes around we are not just sitting around letting all the lactic acid being lethargic and stuff. Even on Monday we have an optional lift. Guys will come in and we will get a good in on Monday so we are still doing something and being active. I think Monday’s have really helped us recover from games.”

On having a more developed game plan by Tuesday’s
“Some stuff could still be added until the very last minute. I know even last week we had stuff going in during the game at halftime so it really just depends on our ability to adapt and being able to perform and execute what they have for us.”

On Purdue’s offense
“They are a good offense. It is kind of more of an NFL schemed offense with a more pass-heavy kind of team. It is kind of the same thing we were saying about Oklahoma but at the end of the day you have to stop the run first. That is kind of our big main focus as a defense is stop the run and make them earn their way and make them one-dimensional and that that they are a passing only team. I know they have a solid scheme and they have a great coach over there and a sixth year quarterback so they are pretty solid.”

On playing looser
“I think it was just kind of what I needed to hear as a confidence thing. To know that they had their confidence in me and just kind of reminded me what happens when I do play loose good things can happen. So hearing it from them really reminded me of what could happen.”

On how Robinson has played since the coaches told him to cut loose
“Indiana has been my best game this year. I think it just allowed me to go into my brain a little bit and just tell myself to buckle up stop thinking so much and just get going. Be the player that you know you can be.”
